Good News Club lessons 2008-2009

This season's four series of lessons in the order they will be taught:
1. Elijah (6 lessons)
2. Elisha (6 lessons)
3. Esther (6 lessons)
4. Daniel (6 lessons)

Each series has two necessary components and one that is optional:

1. Visuals : Elijah, Elisha and Daniel are available in your choice of large spiral-bound flashcards or flannelboard figures to be cut apart. Esther comes only in flashcards ($13.99 for either type)

2. Lesson Text : the complete teacher's guide to the Bible lesson, the memory verse, and the other activities of the club. ($4.00)

3. Resource Pack (optional) available in KJV or NIV: contains memory verse display visuals, a reproducible master for memory verse take-home "tokens" for kids, display cards with the Main Teaching for each lesson, a 6-part illustrated missions story, missions teaching, an attendance incentive activity, and visuals for some lesson review games and "gospel activities." ($11.99)

Each series is also available as PowerPoint on CD-ROM and includes lesson visuals and script, memory verses (KJV and NIV), missions story, and selected songs. ($20.00)

The description of each series below lists the Bible lesson title and Scripture it is based on, the Main Teaching, and the memory verse for each lesson.

Elijah: Prophet of the Living God

Lesson 2 - "Elijah and the Prophets of Baal" (1 Sam. 12:1-25; 13:1-14; 15:1-35) Main Teaching: Don't Allow Anything to Take God's Place in Your Life. Memory verse: Isaiah 44:6

Lesson 3 - "Elijah Believes He's the Only One Serving God" (1 Kings 19:1-21) Main Teaching: God is faithful to care for you. Memory verse: Psalm 46:10

Lesson 4 - "Elijah and Naboth's Vineyard" (1 Kings 21:1-29) Main Teaching: Be content with what God has given you. Memory verse: Hebrews 13:5

Lesson 5 - "Elijah's Ministry Passes to Elisha" (2 Kings 2:1-15) Main Teaching: God wants you to serve Him. Memory verse:: John 12:26

Lesson 6 - "Elijah Talks with the Lord Jesus, Son of the Living God" (Matthew 17:1-9) Main Teaching: Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. Memory verse: 1 Corinthians 15:3-4


Elisha: Prophet of the Faithful God

Lesson 1 - "Elisha's Authority Established by God" (2 Kings 2:13-25) Main Teaching: God wants you to show respect for His workers. Memory verse: Hebrews 13:17

Lesson 2 - "Elisha and the Widow's Oil" (2 Kings 4:1-7) Main Teaching: Your heavenly Father will provide all you need even in hard times. Memory verse: Matthew 6:8

Lesson 6 - "Believe the Good News!" (2 Kings 6:24-7:16) Main Teaching: Believe the good news and be saved today! Memory verse: John 5:24


Esther
Lesson 1 - "Esther Becomes Queen" (Esther 1:1-2:20) Main Teaching: God wants you to obey Him because His plans are best. Memory verse: Jeremiah 7:23

Lesson 2 - "Mordecai Stands True" (Esther 2:21-4:3) Main Teaching: Choose to stand for God. Memory verse: Proverbs 23:17

Lesson 3 - "A Call for Help" (Esther 3:15-4:17) Main Teaching: Call on God to help you. Memory verse: Psalm 50:15

Lesson 4 - "Mordecai's Proud Enemy Is Humbled" (Esther 5:1-6:14) Main Teaching: God wants you to be humble. Memory verse: James 4:6

Lesson 5 - "Esther Pleads for her People" (Esther 7:1-8:17) Main Teaching: Believe on the Lord Jesus and be saved. Memory verse: Acts 16:31

Lesson 6 - "God's People Are Victorious" (Esther 8:17-10:3) Main Teaching: Praise God for His providence. Memory verse: John 16:33


Daniel: Strong in the Lord
