PRAISE REPORTS
PRAISE the Lord for such a big and blessed end-of-season event this week at our Mission Meadows School GNC (Vista district). A week ago leader Jeanelle Higgins (above) had emailed their plans: "We will have our last Good News Club this Wednesday, May 16th. We have sent notes home and to the office. We are inviting parents to this meeting and we hope that many will come! We have invited the Mission Meadows staff, principal, assistant principal and the pastor at North Coast Church, who helped to fund the Bibles and awards. We will be handing out a Truth Chasers Club SM mailer and the Bible Adventures CD-ROM as the children leave. I will talk to my team about helping out at the fair also about having 5-Day Club®s this summer."
When Wednesday rolled around, there were 59 kids for the special time, many with proud parents in tow. Jeanelle reports: "Our last club meeting went by so fast! We thought that a few parents would be able to come, and we had more than 20!...
...We had great worship songs that the children sang so sweetly (led by Debbie, above). The kids played two games, we handed out Bibles to those children who had not already earned theirs (6 verses learned), and lanyards with the gospel colors. We recognized the 5th graders who would be moving on to a junior high we will miss seeing them next year!...
...And we had a very clear presentation of the gospel for the children and all who were there (led by team member Dave, above). We sent the kids home with their awards, lots of good refreshments and their verse pads, Truth Chasers club mail-ins, and a fruit rollup that had a paper with the music rolled up to look like a diploma and a CEF paper to explain the gospel colors on their lanyards....
...I awarded the team with baseball caps that were embroidered with Good News Club, but as you see in the picture, I took it and didnt get in with the team. Our prayer request is that the children who made decisions will continue to grow in the Lord as they read their Bibles and sing along with the songs if they downloaded them; and hopefully they will follow through with the Truth Chasers Bible lessons. And for those children who did not make a decision, that they would allow the Holy Spirit to draw them to Himself through the seeds that were planted. The Lord answered so many of our prayers and we praise Him for another good spring semester!"
PRAISE God for a solid seven-month season of reaching the kids each week at Lake School in Oceanside (Vista district)! Leader Marian Kisling wraps things up for the year: "The Lake club ended with a great celebration on April 27. We were given lots of prizes to give to the kids. They all had a great time! One boy was given a Bible from one of the volunteers. We also had some Bibles on the gift table and he said he wanted another Bible for his parents! He was so happy that both he and his parents had a Bible to read together. I praise God for such a great year and for so many that got saved."
PRAYER NEEDS
PRAY (if you see this in time!) for our day at the Escondido Street Faire on Sunday, May 20, 10am-6pm. We'll be in our customary spot, space 572, on the south side of Grand Ave. between Broadway and Maple. Please pray for delightful weather that will bring out the throngs. Pray that lots of kids and parents will stop at our booth to hear God's Word. Pray that many will respond in faith to the Gospel message, and that Christian kids will receive encouragement from the Lord to keep growing in Him.
PRAY for volunteer supervisors needed for our 24-day-long outreach at the San Diego County Fair. Please pray that some dedicated souls will step forward to serve on one or more days, overseeing the ministry and the volunteer staff. If you may be interested, please call us at 760-410-8484.
PRAY for additional members needed to serve on the governing Committee of our chapter, CEF of North San Diego County. Pray that the Lord would place His calling on several servants who see the urgent need to reach kids in His name.
In the fellowship of our Lord,
Robert Burkley

..."Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God. Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." And He took them up in His arms, put His hands on them, and blessed them. --Mark 10:14-16
